About
Championship Drive-In is a small, independent index of hotels. It covers four categories — art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels — and describes each property in a few paragraphs of plain prose.
It is written for people who like to know what a place is actually like before they go, and who would rather read a clear paragraph than scroll past a score.
How entries are chosen
We pick real, operating hotels that show a category clearly. A capsule hotel should make the case for sleeping in a pod. An art hotel should have a building or setting worth the trip. Casino hotels are described as hotels first, with the gaming floor treated as one feature among several.
The Ice Hotels category holds a single entry, Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi. There are only a handful of true ice hotels in the world, and one well-described property is more useful than a list padded out for the sake of it.
What we don't do
We don't take bookings, publish prices, score hotels or run reviews. No hotel pays to appear here, and none has approved its entry in advance. Descriptions stick to general, lasting facts about each property.
Keeping things current
Hotels renovate, rebrand and change hands. When we learn that an entry is out of date, we correct it. If you spot something wrong, the contact page explains how to tell us.
